- Timbres du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, 2nd edition, by J.B. Moens (1879, Le Timbre-Poste, Brussels). This was the first book ever published on Luxembourg philately -- 150 numbered copies were printed. (On 26-Feb-2001, a rebound copy of this rare reference sold on eBay for $177.50.)
- The Stamps of Luxembourg: An Easy Guide to their Collection, with some Notes on Relative Values, by Frank H. Oliver (The Philatelic Record, volumes 1-5, 1900).
- Luxemburg: A Short History of the Earlier Postal Issues, by Alexander J. Séfi (The West-End Philatelist, April-May-June 1913).
- Les Timbres-Poste du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, by Bernard Wolff (1936, FSPL, Luxembourg).
- The Postal History of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, by Francis Rhein (1941, Chambers Publishing Company, Kalamazoo). Though it's now over 50 years old, Rhein's book remains the best English-language general reference on Luxembourg philately.
- Handbuch der Briefmarkenkunde, Lieferung 16/17, Luxemburg, by Hans von Rudolphi (1944, Verein Handbuch der Briefmarkenkunde e.V., Berlin).
- Almanach CENTILUX, edited by A. Ungeheuer (1952, CENTILUX).
- Les Cahiers Luxembourgeois (Christmas issue, 1952). This issue includes several interesting articles on a variety of Luxembourg philatelic topics.
- Country Index (Luxembourg), edited by Clare McAlister (Fine Arts Philatelist, September-October, 1959 and November-December, 1959). This index contains information on the portraits and buildings depicted on the stamps of Luxembourg, including names of artists and architects, date of creation, location, and so on.
- From Burgundy to Orange: 400 Years of Luxembourg Postal History, by Robert C. Danzer (Postal History Journal, Vol. 22-23, #49-53, June 1978-October 1979). This study includes many illustrations of rare Luxembourg philatelic material for the period 1500-1900.
- Eis Post - Les Postes et Télécommunications au Luxembourg, by C. Frieseisen, M.-P. Jungblut, P. Margue, M. Wietor, and A. Wolter (1992, Enterprise des Postes et Télécommunications, Luxembourg). This is a comprehensive history of postal operations in Luxembourg from ancient times to the modern day. It was published on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Luxembourg Post. The text is primary in French, with a bit of German and Luxembourgeois added for flavor. This book is available from Post Luxembourg.
- Livre d'Or (1990, Union des Timbrophiles de Luxembourg). This book, published to commemorate the centenary of the UTL stamp club in Luxembourg, contains numerous articles on philatelic topics related to the Grand Duchy.
- Luxembourg Postal History: An Introduction: The Early Days of the Postal Service (1998, C.S. Holder). This book consists of the notes for a display to the Royal Philatelic Society, The Sir Daniel Cooper Lecture, 7 May 1998. It covers the pre-adhesive period as well as the classic stamps issued before 1882.

- Catalogue de Poste Aérienne de Luxembourg, by Fr. Godinas and Ray. Thill (1957, Luxembourg). This is a brief summary of Luxembourg air mail stamps, first flight covers, and special flight covers.
Postmarks
- Les Oblitérations du Luxembourg depuis 100 ans et l'indice de leur rareté, by René Berlingin (ca. 1952, Luxembourg).
- Luxembourg Postmark Catalog (FSPL, Luxembourg). This is a comprehensive catalog of all known Luxembourg postmark types.
- Catalogue de Cachet Etrangers avec le Motif "Luxembourg" (FSPL, 1998, Luxembourg). This is a catalog of postmarks and postal markings with a Luxembourg theme used by countries other than Luxembourg itself.
Railroad Postmarks
- Les Cachets Ambulants du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, 2me édition, by René Englebert (1972, Les Cheminots Philatélistes, Luxembourg). There is also a 4-page 1983 supplement. Get this book if you collect Luxembourg railroad postmarks because they're all shown.

World War II Occupation

The definitive source of information on stamps, covers, postal stationery, and postmarks relating to the German occupation period of World War II. In German.
Postal Rates
- Die Tarife der Briefpost in Luxemburg 1852-2002, by Dieter Basien and Fernand Hoffkamp (2002, P&T Luxembourg). This is the new "bible" on Luxembourg rates from 1852 to the present day. It was published on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the first Luxembourg postage stamps. It can be purchased from Post Luxembourg. Cover photo.
- Evolution of Postal Rates in Luxembourg, by Charles Rousseau (1953, Luxembourg Philatelic Study Club, Seattle).
Periodicals with Many Articles on Luxembourg Philately
- Le Moniteur du Collectionneur. This is the journal of the Fédération des Sociétés Philatéliques du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg (FSPL), the parent organization of the many stamp clubs in Luxembourg. It was published from 1891 to 1910 and from 1948 to date.
- Le Luxembourg Philatélique. This magazine was published for only three years: 1939, 1946, and 1947.
- Luxembourg Philatelist. This journal was published by the Luxembourg Philatelic Study Club from 1950-1965 and is a valuable source of Luxembourg philatelic information in the English language. The American Philatelic Research Library has a complete set that members may borrow.
- Castellum. This was the quarterly journal of the Luxembourg Collectors Club. The first issue was published in June, 1997 and the last in September 2009.
